How To: Create A Facebook Group!

howto-defaultHave you ever been added to a group on Facebook and wondered how you even got there in the first place?

After noticing that you were added to a Facebook group, did you think it was kinda cool that you wanted to create your own? Here at YoRehab, we will show you step by step on how to create a Facebook group.

Recently, we came to the conclusion that we needed a Facebook group for our YoVille hot dog addicts. We just can’t seem to get enough of those hot dogs especially since they help us get a higher payout in the YoVille factory. We created our very own hot dog group via Facebook. However, you can use your Facebook group for whatever purpose you choose. Facebook groups could be useful if you have a club, group of friends or family members that you happen to communicate with often for special events. A Facebook group is kind of like your very own Facebook discussion board. So let us walk you through the steps on how to create a Facebook group.

Step 1 - At the very left of your screen on your Facebook home page, you will see your favorites located underneath your profile picture. Underneath your default profile picture, you will then see the following listed: news feeds, messages, and events. Below the list, there is a designated place for all the groups you have been added to on Facebook. At the bottom of the list, you will then see a place where you can click to create your own Facebook group.

The picture below is the ‘home’ section of Facebook and how it should appear. Underneath your groups section, you will be able to click on the icon that is labeled “create group.” Take a look at our arrow that indicates the icon you will need click on:

Step 2- Upon clicking on “create group”, you will then receive a list like the one shown below. You can then name your group by typing in the name of the Facebook contacts you wish to add to this group. For the privacy of your group, you may select from the following: open (anyone can see the members of the group and the posts in the group), closed (anyone can see a list of members, but not posts) or secret (members and posts are only available for view by members of the group). After doing all of the following, you can now click “create.”

Step 3- After you have created your Facebook group, you will then be able to post a message for everyone in the group to see. You’ll be able to create documents to explain what the group is about or any other additional information that you wish to save for your group to view any time. You can also post photos and videos as well in the Facebook group that you created.
