How can you protect those items you worked so hard to get?
We work hard in YoVille everyday. There are coin runs, factory trips, neighbor visits and nitro collections. When we decide on that special item that we want, the saving begin! No buying, and selling off the items you don’t want. Watch those coins climb! How exciting to finally have enough for that special item! Once you add an item to your inventory, you and you alone have access to it. You can use it or store it, but it remains yours. Now, how do you protect it?
When on yoville.com, you can view someone’s entire inventory unless they have it locked. Many times on the forums you will see “Inventory Sale” and you will need to view their inventory to make your selection from their items. While you can see their unlocked inventories, remember that everyone can see your unlocked inventory as well.
If you would like to set your inventory so that no one can see the items you have, there are a few very simple steps to take. Visit yoville.com. Look for the green outlined box on the top right of the page like the one below.
Notice the “Privacy Settings” line. Select that by clicking it. A box will pop up that will give you several options. An image below will show you the options available.
As you will see, I have clicked the button for no one to view my inventory. Until I change it, no one else can see my inventory. It is locked and will remain private. The next option is for messages. These are the messages left at your home by others when they do neighbor visits. You can opt to have those remain private as well. Photos are the final option in the box. This was a feature that was offered in the past, but is no longer active on yoville.com.
With a few simple steps, you can protect your inventory and decide who can see the items you have spent your time and coins acquiring. With the potential for hacking and scamming in our town, you should always take the precautions to protect your items. Also remember to take care and exercise caution in trades with other players. Remember that loaning an item to another person puts the item into their inventory and you relinquish any control or ability to reclaim it. Keep an eye on your inventory to make sure you have no missing items.
Do you keep your inventory locked? Have you ever had a problem? Tell us about it below. We would love to hear your thoughts on this!
