Agent Alby is starting to feel old and this is when realization dawns that she is on a different planet to the youngsters of YoVille.
Not long ago I became ‘old’ in many young YoVillian eyes. I won’t say how old or else I might be packed off to a nursing home – I’m not THAT old! As I get nearer to my state pension, I am also becoming a bit grumpy. Not as grumpy as the Grumpy Old Men and Grumpy Old Women from the UK television programmes but grumpy all the same. I am rather weary of the activities that some of the much younger YoVillians get up to.
First of all, I do not need to be told to (as has been said to a fellow member) ‘get a life’ just because I say something which you may not agree with. At my age, I have an extremely full one, thank-you! I run a home, am a carer, work out in the real world and somehow manage to find a bit of time here. I really don’t have enough hours in my day for anything else unlike those young YoVillians who sit glued to their monitors all day while their Mommy waits on them hand and foot. It’s rather ironic really that these youngsters have the cheek to tell others to get lives when they really cannot have any sort of life themselves, spending all that time and energy on such rubbish. Turn the pc off, play with your friends – DO YOUR HOMEWORK!
Now I’m going to touch on something which really does perplex this elderly brain… YoBabies! There appears to be a fascination with regressing to babyhood. Walking around in jammies, talking a strange language which you would not catch any real self-respecting baby uttering. If babies could talk, that is! Thankfully not all YoBabies are like that. I have met a couple of very pleasant, polite young female YoBabies who speak perfect English, in the forums. Unfortunately I have also encountered some very annoying ones in game.
No, I do NOT want to be your ‘mommy’ or your ‘mommmmmmmy’ and give you all my hard earned coins. No, I do NOT want to spend my real, hard earned money on YoCash to buy you goodies! My hard-earned money goes on my own, real son, not a little brat hiding behind a monitor! GO AWAY, DO YOUR CHORES, AND EARN YOUR OWN!
Talking of begging… Ah yes, the old ‘I am poor – please give me your money/goodies/inheritance’…
Listen matey – if you kept your coins instead of continuing to make Premium events for 1k you would soon have a nice little nest egg. You are not going to become a YoEntrepreneur wasting money on events where people only come to insult you for begging! This applies, to some degree, to the forums too. Every now and then, a beggar appears in discussion. Some are, so they think, very clever. Cheap coin clothing and ‘Hi, I’m new here’. Hey, you forgot to hide your inventory. How kind that someone gifted you (insert suitable expensive items here) within seconds of you joining! BUSTED!
Now a lot of the above is, of course, tongue-in-cheek and I do know that it’s not just the youngsters who irritate people. There are genuine new players who do not understand gaming/forum etiquette. There also some equally annoying adults out there… I am probably one of them!
