Can YoVille Be Educational For All Ages?

YoVille DefaultAs we all know YoVille is expanding everyday and there are plenty of rumors that go around, making it hard to sort them out. There are two different servers for the game. One for the youth, and one for adults. There is one thing that I know for sure, both servers still have all the same features available in game, like access to the casino and the sky nightclub. Could it be that kids could gain a gambling addiction at a young age, or even a nightclub addiction? They may or may not, but more importantly, what I would like to cover in this YoFeature is the topic, can YoVille be educational for all ages?

In my opinion, YoVille can be educational for all age groups, and at the same time it also can also have a negative impact on kids. I will be providing you a list of ways that YoVille could be educational as well having a negative impact.

Here below is a list of ways that YoVille could be educational for all ages:

  • YoVille teaches many people how to communciate because everyday in YoVille we are meeting new players from all over the world!
  • YoVille teaches us how to bargain and make sales (now I don’t know about you, but when having a yard sale now, I’m much more confident in trying to sell things.)
  • YoVille teaches us about safety because a lot of times you have to be careful of who you talk to.
  • YoVille teaches us how to manage our YoCash and YoCoins (Which resembles our money in real life.)
  • YoVille also teaches us about friendship. (Gaining and losing friends.)

Here is a list of ways YoVille could have a negative impact on players:

  • Sometimes when playing YoVille we are not gaining new information
  • Forming new addictions or adding to existing ones
  • YoVille members could be teaching youth the wrong things, ie: hacking, scamming, and gambling.

Now I have been wondering about what other players think of this subject, and I wanted to see it from their point of view. So I ventured out and asked a few people about their thoughts. Can YoVille be educational or can it have a negative impact on kids? For this YoFeature I have interviewed the following YoVillians: JJ Villa ptye, Tina, and MzKiiNa YPY. So, let’s take a look at the questions I have asked and the responses that were given by these players.

Interview with JJ Villa ptye

In your opinion, is YoVille educational? Why or why not?

Yes, I do think YoVille is semi-educational. You can learn mathematics from sales and you also learn how to communicate, especially when it comes to buying, selling and trading. You also gain better typing skills as well. YoVille can also have a negative impact because it is teaching kids on the kids server how to gamble at the casino. In my opinion Zynga could make YoVille more educational by removing the fishing and car racing and maybe replace them with educational games.

Have you ever learned anything from playing YoVille? If so what is it that you have learned?

I have learned a lot from playing YoVille since I run a contest page. I have learned it’s not about how rich or how poor someone is, but about who they are as a person. Also I have learned to always be nice to other YoVillians because you never know who is on the other side of the computer.

 Interview with Tina:

In your opinion, is YoVille educational? Why or why not?

Yes, YoVille is educational because it is a simple version of life with real people. You go to factory to make money, decorate your apartment, dress up, and you buy and sell things. You also meet real people and make friends which is the same as it is in real life. So I believe that YoVille teaches you about life and living, and it can be indeed educational.

Have you ever learned anything from playing YoVille?

Yes, I’ve learned about people and friends, and also to avoid the scammers. Basically you learn the way you treat people is how you will get treated in return.

Would you let your child(ren) have a YoVille?

I wouldn’t want my kids playing YoVille. In my opinion it’s an adult game with adult themes. I dont want my kids to learn about gambling at the casino, or getting scammed in a trade, asked to cam, or unfortunately meeting some of the adult people who hang out at the Alton Towers. Kids are basically playing in the same arena as adults without adult supervision, and unfortunately do not have protection against some of the things that go on.

Interview with MzKiiNa YPY:

In your opinion, is YoVille educational? Why or why not?

Yes, I believe YoVille is educational. You can learn a lot of things. Even though it’s not real, if you buy yocash it changes things. In YoVille you learn money management and you’d be suprised what you can learn from your  friends all over the world. I’ve learned how to say stuff in different languages, and even learned about some new holidays! YoVille also teaches you self control. Gotta save to get what you want. No spending! You learn you can’t trust everyone, and you don’t really know people online necessarily.

Have you ever learned anything from playing YoVille?

I’ve learned how to be patient. I’ve learned how quick things can change, some different languages, religions, customs, traditions, and I also learned there are some kids out their that are more respectful and kinder than some grown people I know.

In your opinion, do you think that YoVille can be educational for all ages? Why or why not? Did you enjoy this YoFeature? What other topics would you like to see covered here at YoRehab? Please share with us in the comment box below. We would love to hear from you!
