Dissension In The Ranks And Gloom Prevails

YoVille News DefaultWhere has the new happy atmosphere gone? Doom, gloom and moaning looms again over on the YoVille.com Forums.

What happend to happy happy happy? It did seem for a time that the new way of the YoVille.com forums was fun and laughter. Ruby Ninja arrived and brought with her a great new atmosphere that had everyone laughing and revelling in her fun approach and warmth. She was nick-named “the peoples Ninja”. Ruby’s sense of fun and lightness seemed contagious and other Ninja’s followed her lead. It looked like this was the new way forward. The thinking behind this perhaps that maybe the YoVille.com forums were the first point of contact between Zynga and the players and that possibly they had realised that running it differently would be advantageous. Especially given the difficult period of the YoVille hacking-spree.

New Ninja’s were then taken on and it looked for a while that things really were looking up and perhaps this was true, this was a new and improved official YoVille forum, a place where players really wanted to be.

It seems that the newness and shinyness has finally worn off and the old and gloomy atmosphere has again returned. Even the happy go-lucky Ninja’s appear to have lost their sparkle.

Today saw the announcement of the proposed Lights Out on YoVille – showing that all is not good with the players, followed by the closing and moving of what has been said is a record number of threads. Here is one post that was made by a forum member regarding the mass “closing spree” that was swiftly nipped in the bud by a Ninja who appears to have been looking for a reason to do it – as you see by her twist of humor at the end where she increases the number to 12.

So, what is going on? Have the Ninja’s had enough of being nice? Or do the players complaineth too much? Is this a temporary blip in the fun and laughter or has the doom and gloom of the YoVille.com forums returned for good?

It would be a shame if it had to return to the old ways of the forum. The rules are many and freedom of speech is rarely allowed, but the new relaxed and happy atmosphere made this more bearable and the rules were enforced with an air of lightness. Now, again, heavy handed seems to be the order of the day, sadly.

Did you notice the change in forum atmosphere and the sense of fun brought by certain new blood? Do you now see a shift in the ways again? What do you think is to blame if this is so? We would love to hear your thoughts, please share them in the comments box below.
