Independence day clothing release was on a timer – did you see it?
Controversy follows the disappearance of the Independence day clothing from the store. The clothing vanished from the fashion store just 1 day after Independence day, with no warning. Players were saddend by the disappearance and are questioning the reasoning behind it.
Many players were saddened as it was about the shortcomings of the release in the first place, feeling like Independence day like many other Zynga releases was an afterthought, maybe even forgotten until the last minute. Then, to add insult to injury, the clothing was withdrawn without as much as a word.
Purple Ninja announced that the clothing was withdrawn because it was on a timer.
This however was not the case. There was no visible timer on the items in the fashion store. Many players pushed this point which then forced a second and more agitated reaction from the lovely Purple.
The Independence day release was screenshotted by Agent Blossom on the 2nd of July – you may view all of the screenshots within this dated article which YoRehab published that same day. Here is the first one taken just to prove a point.
Purple continued to argue the toss about the items being on timers then also fell back on her usual Terms of Service post. This was later followed by Sunglow Ninja who closed the thread due to ‘disrepect in posting’. She then re-opened the thread as she said she wanted peoples views to be heard, which was quite nice of her. This was followed by this posting which was meant to point out the terms of service covering Zynga’s backs “re: forgetting to add the timers to the clothing” (or that is what some believe must have happened, as has been proved by way of our own screenshot – there were no visible timers on the items in store).
Followed by this:
Now, given that Purple has said that the items were on a timer and that there was “no timer”. This is the post that Sunglow again followed up with, a little more back covering by the new yellowy-orange person it would seem.
How funny, Purple saying that the items were on a timer and players expecting there to have actually been a visible timer on the items leads to the misquoting of Purple. How silly of us all to assume that the items being on a timer meant that we would actually be able to see a timer.
My bad, Our bad – boy are we bad. We so must not twist Purples words.
Either way, the clothing items from the Independence day release are gone from stores – without a trace and without warning. Warning which according to the terms of service, Zynga do not have to give. Timer or no timer, invisible or forgotten – they are gone.
What do you think of this? Are players within their rights to be annoyed over the Independence day clothings fast vanishing from the store – without warning, should it have been expected? Or should we keep quiet, happy in the knowledge that this can happen according to the terms of service.
