If you worry about hackers accessing your YoVille account through Facebook, please keep up to date with the latest phishing scams!
Facecrooks has just announced that there is a new phishing scam doing the rounds of Facebook. What has this got to do with YoVille? Well, if they get your Facebook account, they may well go after you YoVille account next!
On July 25th, Facecrooks published the following article: Warning: We received reports from other users that your account has violated a policy – Facebook Scam. Facebook users are getting a message, apparently from Facebook, stating that they have ‘violated a policy that is considered to disturb or offend other users.’ they are then requested to click on a link to verify their account, with a warning that failure to do so will see their account deactivated. Most Facebook users are wise to these scams but those new to Facebook or those who don’t use it very often, could get caught out.
If you accidentally click on the following link, you will be asked to complete a security check.
If you proceed further you will no doubt be asked for your Facebook login details, but hopefully you will have good Internet Security installed, which will block any attempt to get your details! The article gives good advice on what to do if you do get hacked, so please read it for further details.
