Do you like auctions? Perhaps you like to go to live auctions in game? Or do you prefer to use auction pages on Facebook?
Well if any kind of auction appeals to you, then this might just be your thing too! The YoVille auction house is coming to YoVille.
UPDATE: Coral Ninja has announced that the auction house has started rolling out today, Monday, 26th November.
Earlier today, Coral Ninja made the following announcement:
We’ve got great news for all of you! Curious about what the title of this post is referring to? Well, guess what?! Yoville is going to launch a trading platform for you awesome players, where you can auction your items and clothing from your inventory: Auction House!
Make sure to head over to the BLOG for more details on this and do let us know what you think!
Please note that this feature will be launched on Monday, 26 November 2012, so ensure you log on to Yoville!
We took a look at the blog to see what it is all about. At first glance it looks quite in-depth, but it also looks reasonably straight-forward, with good clear images to show how each stage works. We strongly recommend that you read the blog a couple of times to familiarise yourself with how the auction system works.
The first thing we need to make YoVillians aware of is the fact that it will not be available to everyone straight away. Like most new features, it will be rolled out gradually.
Secondly, whatever your item sells, YoVille will deduct 7% ‘commission’ from what you receive.
Thirdly – and something which we like – is the fact that, once an item sells, the game will automatically transfer the coins from the buyer’s account to the seller’s account. This means there is no chance that the buyer will not pay – and equally, no chance that the seller will refuse to sell!
We have also discovered, from reading Coral Ninja’s posts, that youngsters on the child server will be able to trade with adults on the adult server without having to make any contact with them. We think that’s a great idea.
There are bound to be teething problems in the beginning, but once the bugs are ironed out and people get used to using it, this new feature could well give both in game auctions and auction pages a run for their money.
You can read Coral Ninja’s post and comment on it here.
Full details about the new auction house can be found in the official blog here.
UPDATE: you can now find more information and answers to most questions in the Zynga support hub here.
Do you like the idea of an official YoVille auction house? does the thought of having to pay 7% commission when your items sell bother you? Or do you think it is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that you will get your coins without the buyer trying to back out? As a buyer, do you like the idea that the seller will not be able to back out if the item doesn’t sell for enough? or do you dislike the fact that you will be tied and not be back to back out if you no longer wish to buy the item? Please tell us what you think in the comment box below.
Please also share this article so that other YoVillians can read about the new auction house feature.
