During the last two and a half years that YoVille has been around, many things have changed.
When YoVille first started out, it was on Myspace exclusively. However, with the purchase of YoVille by Zynga, it was made available to players on Facebook as well.
Myspace YoVille has “evolved”, but not as much as players would have liked it to. Sure, you can still send and receive free gifts, chat with friends, and level up, but what about the bonuses Facebook players get? Facebook YoVille is always current with the latest feature Zynga releases to “test” or launch. There are not many complaints from Facebook players other than the usual glitches and lag. This is not surprising since Facebook does get all the new features and the access to collect feed posts, and the like.
It has become apparent through various threads in the YoVille forums that many Myspace players feel like they are not treated the same. Threads are almost always the same.
- MySpace players have layering issues. Tiles and carpets seem to be on top of furniture and sometimes, even avatars.
- MySpace players often miss out on cosigning, feeds like keys, widgets and energy, and gold boxes, for example.
- MySpace players seem to experience more lag.
- MySpace players have a harder time getting to events. Many have reported having to refresh multiple times just to get to an event.
Facebook players often shoot back when these threads occur saying things like “Just make a Facebook account” or “It’s not a big deal to move to Facebook”. But what these Facebook players cease to realize is that most players on Myspace are not new players. They have most likely invested real money and numerous hours of time into their account. Some players have multiple YoCash homes on their account as well. So while it is doable to move, most won’t entertain the option since Support won’t refund their money on YoCash houses, forcing them to start new on Facebook.
Do you think that MySpace YoVille players should get the same features that Facebook YoVille players have? Should Zynga offer the same features for both? Share your thoughts with us in the comment section below.
