If it sounds too good to be true YoVillians, chances are it is! There is a rumored new hack surfacing that compromises your YoVille account and everything in it. They are putting you at risk by sending you a request under Apps and Games on your Facebook account. It tells you that you have received 50 YoCash via Zynga Rewardville and to claim the YoCash you’d need to press accept. It looks something like this.
Never click on any link that looks too good to be true, or even if the validity of the request is questionable, YoVillians. When you click on links like this it automatically sends your account information to the originator of the request and then they have your email and password and can easily access your account.
Bottom line? Keep your eyes and ears peeled at all times. Beware and be cautious of every and all links you click on. Be hesitant when you receive a link via any method from an unknown person, and also be cautious when clicking on links sent from people you do know because you never really do know if someones account has been compromised or not.
Another precaution that can help protect your account is to link a cell phone to your account via account settings. Set it so that if an unknown device tries to log into your Facebook account, a code is sent via text message to your phone that needs to be entered in order to log on.
What do you think YoVillians? Are you reluctant and careful while clicking on links? Have any other tips that help others to keep their accounts secure? Have you fallen victim to this hack? As always, we love to hear from you! Please feel free to leave your feedback in the comment boxes below. Remember its ALWAYS better to be safe then sorry.
