Zynga.com Lowers The Drawbridge For Kingdom Quest By Playdemic

New Zynga News Default 11/11If you love CastleVille then you may just like this game too!

Zynga has got together with game maker Playdemic to bring a new game to the Zynga platform and Facebook. For those of you who do not know the name, Playdemic are based in the UK and are the creators of Gourmet Ranch.

The new creation is a medieval jaunt called Kingdom Quest. The object of the game is for players to rebuild a kingdom destroyed by an evil warlord.

The game opens with the dramatic destruction of their kingdom at the hand of villainous overlord Lord Osric. Players will be expected to complete sprawling quests, mine for resources, craft items to sell and explore a vast map. The story of Kingdom Quest is led along by a cast of likely characters, such as friendly monk Brother Martin, mysterious knight Sir Borin and more.

Now the first thing that we are sure will spring to mind is, ‘is this a CastleVille’ copy cat? Kingdom Quest will allow players to visit their friends kingdoms to help them with tasks and ask for their help in return. Although, it would appear that the big major difference between the two games is that Kingdom Quest is a system that allows players to buy and sell goods amongst one another through a trading post.

So… You get the game play of CastleVille and the trading abilities of, dare we say, YoVille? That could be quite an interesting aspect of game play! However, we’ll leave any possible conclusion up to you, should you choose to give it a shot. Visually, it is quite appealing, but of course the proof of the pudding is in the eating as well as how appetising it looks… You get to cook in Kingdom Quest too!

If you would like to learn more about the game you can read about it on the official Facebook page here. There is also a blog.games.com article which can be read here.

Does this new game interest you? Or do you think it is too much like CastleVille? Perhaps you are thinking that Zynga is running out of new ideas, or perhaps you are thinking that Zynga is chucking out far too many new games so soon after laying off it’s workers?
